Clipfarm

Streaming Modes

Cloud, RTMP, and MatchBox. Pick the right one for your event

Three ways to get footage from your event into Clipfarm. They differ in how much control you need and how much setup is involved.

Cloud Mode

Point Clipfarm at an existing YouTube or Twitch stream and it handles the rest. Paste the stream URL into your event dashboard and Clipfarm monitors it in real time, generating clips as matches start and end.

Best if you're already streaming publicly and just want clips without any additional software. Clip generation has a few seconds of latency and depends on the stream platform staying available.

RTMP Mode

Stream directly to Clipfarm's ingest server instead of YouTube or Twitch. We restream to your platform of choice and generate clips with no added delay.

Set it up by copying RTMP credentials from Dashboard -> Events -> [your event] -> Stream Settings and configuring your encoder (OBS, vMix, etc.) to point at the Clipfarm endpoint. More involved than Cloud Mode, but you get full quality control and zero clip latency.

You can monitor ingest health; like bitrate, frame drops, and connected relay node from Dashboard -> Stream Operations.

MatchBox Mode

Download the MatchBox desktop app, paste the authorization token from your event dashboard, and you're done. The video stream never touches Clipfarm infrastructure directly; MatchBox handles uploads locally. Best for organizers who want complete control over their local setup.

Video delivery & HLS

All clips on Clipfarm are delivered via HLS (HTTP Live Streaming), which scales to tens of thousands of concurrent viewers during live events without degrading performance. HLS is optimized for browser playback and sharing rather than direct file downloads.
